Times a changin', leaves a fallin', crisp cool October air... with gentle wafts of friendly, familiar firewood floating on a gentle breeze... All are welcome on All Hallows Eve...

Seasons greeting to my Ghouls and Witches... artistic Monsters working feverishly in their creepy dungeons and labs. Stoke the coals and throw the switches, tricks and treats for lasses and lads...

Happy Halloween.

Sailor Series

Mon Jul 14, 2008, 7:29 PM
I'm pleased to announce that after many months of turmoil, transition and moving, I'm finally back comfortably in my "groove" again.

I've started a "Sailor Series", which will be comprised of (most likely) 8-12 works inspired by the Traditional Sailor Tattoo designs.

I've been diggin' a lot of the Sailor Jerry stuff lately, and have decided to put myself to the test of rejuvenating some of the old themes, motto's and designs that have stood up over the test of time.

Some Old School things are here to stay, and could use a fresh look for the 21st century. Like a chop and paint to a '49 Merc, I'm here to make the Old School Fresh... one piece at a time ;)

Well, it's official - I've finally made it out of the hell hole that is Phoenix, AZ. I've moved to Atlanta, GA and LOVING IT!

I'm still getting adjusted and settled in, but soon to work on some new artwork. I know I promised this before, but things were a bit turbulent back in AZ. Now I'm comfortable and cool and ready to go as soon as I can officially set up shop out here.

If you or anyone you know are in the Atlanta area, please let me know. I don't really know anyone out here and would love to hook up with some other like minded folks!

Thanks all, again, for your continuing support!!

Man, what an exhausting month it’s been! I really have been trying to get more artwork up here to share but, my typical life – never a dull moment!

I am half way through the transition of moving, which is always fun… especially in Phoenix… in June… while its 112 degrees… (((sigh))). I hope to be done and settled within the next couple weeks at the most, which will definitely help me stay focused and organized. As things are now, I’ve got scraps and scribbles and half finished works scattered, stuffed and boxed all over the place. No bueno!

I’ve also been working on some commission pieces that I would love to show off. Unfortunately, we all know that “Art Pirates” sail these seas, and out of respect to the recipient and their desire for a unique and individualized work, I cannot and will not compromise that integrity.

I do have some personal side projects going on that I’d like to wrap up and post, just as soon as my personal life quits interfering!!

Thanks to all you DA’ers who continue to produce, inspire and offer support to the artist’s community! –That’s what it’s all about.

CHEERS!

Welcome one, welcome all!

I have decided recently to revamp my DA site - formerly: Artistnick ([link]).

At the present, I am in transition and will move some of the old artwork over, but the plan is to completely start anew. I will be leaving the old site up as long as the transition is in process, but I don't expect a lengthy move.

I've been out of my element for far too long now. Hell, I haven't touched a tattoo machine in over a year, nor have I produced any artwork more significant than a simple sketch!!

To hell with that - I'm back in the saddle again.

I can't sleep at night because my head swirls with dope new designs. I've just begun setting up a dedicated studio for myself at home - It's mine! All mine!! Stay out!!!

Keep a fresh eye peeled. It may take a short time to transition and build my momentum back up, but I'm hungry for new work like Zombie James Dean is hungry for Marilyn’s brains!!

Mmmmm. Braaaaaains.....
